Taylor Hall Breaks Wayne Gretzky’s Record

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns Taylor Hall broke Wayne Gretzky’s record of fastest hat trick in an Oilers game. Hall did it in 7:53 minutes while Gretzky did it in 12:38 minutes. The Oilers exploded for 4 goals in the first period on the strength of Hall’s hat trick. Hall scored the first goal in 16 seconds. Another Oilers record was broken as Hall and Ladislav Smid combined for 3 goals in the first 2:43 of the first period for the fastest three goals in a game. The Oilers Shocked the Canucks with a 4-0 victory, winning three straight games for the first time this season. The Oilers are now just one point out of a playoff spot. Jordan Eberle and Justin Schultz each tallied an assist while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins dished out two more assists.

Oilers Young Guns prepare for Vancouver

The Edmonton Oiler Young Guns prepare to take on the Canucks for Hockey Night in Canada. The Oilers are looking to win a third straight game for the first time this season. But they’re up against a red hot goalie in Cory Schneider who has posted six straight wins. The line of Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins hope to put pressure in him and a few goals. The teams will do battle again on Thursday in Vancouver. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m. MDT at Rexall Place.

Oilers Young Guns Win a Scorcher

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns won an important game as they defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-4 in an entertaining tilt. After Columbus scored the first two goals the Oilers stormed back with the line of Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to tie the game at two. The Blue Jackets pulled ahead but Nail Yakupov assisted on the third goal to once again tie it up. A fourth goal by Columbus prompted an Edmonton goalie change. After the score was tied 4-4 Columbus moved in on a chance at net. Devan Dubnyk then went post to post to stop a sure goal. The Oilers countered with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins assisting to Ales Hemsky who weaved in and out of the offensive zone to score an exhilarating goal for the game winner. At games end the Oilers saluted their fans to a standing ovation.

Oilers Young Guns face another crucial test

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns face the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. A win can vault them three points behind a coveted play off spot. This would put them in a three way tie with Columbus and Dallas. The first line will once again feature the Oilers Young Guns of Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The old gun Nikolai Khabibulin will start again in goal and try to put a winning streak together. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. MDT.

OILERS YOUNG GUNS STRIKE BACK!

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns avenged their loss to the Saint Louis Blues posting a 3-0 win. This put hopes back into a playoff position run. The young guns line of Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins blazed away to combine for a stellar 8 points on the night. Eberle had two goals and an assist. Hall had a goal and two assists, running his consecutive game point tally to five. While RNH dished out two assists. Meanwhile, the old gun Nikolai Khabibulin made a 43 save shutout to back up an impressive performance.

Oilers Young Guns edged out in Music City

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns dropped a match 3-2 to the Nashville Predators last night, as they were unable to sustain a late game rally. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins set up a power play goal that was shot from the point and tipped in by Taylor Hall to take an early one goal lead. Later in the first period Jordan Eberle took a crushing check as he drove up the ice but recovered to carry on. The Oilers Young Guns hope to bounce back as they take on the Saint Louis Blues tonight.

Oilers Young Guns in Nashville

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns take on the Preds tonight in a crucial tilt beginning a short two game road trip. This is the third and final meeting of the season and a win for either team can put them back in sight of a playoff spot. The puck drops in Music City at 6:00 p.m. MDT.

Oilers Young Guns lose 3-0 to Saint Louis

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns lose 3-0 to the Saint Louis Blues. The Blues smothered the Young guns as they were unable to generate any scoring. The fans left early and the remaining fans boo’d the team off the ice. A lesson learned as the young bunch must make a come back with upcoming road games against the Predators and a rematch in Saint Louis.

Oilers Young Guns Face the Blues

The Edmonton Oilers Young Guns must put together a solid game tonight as the try to snap a five game loosing streak against the Saint Louis Blues. This is the last of a four game home stand. The Oilers will dress all the young guns except for RNH, who is out with the flu. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m. MDT.

Oilers Young Guns Back in Action Tomorrow

The Edmonton Oilers young guns will be back in action tomorrow as they take on the Saint Louis Blues. The Young Guns are being challenged to continue to put up wins in order to stay in the playoff hunt. They have 19 games remaining on their schedule with 11 at home. Several of the teams they will be playing are above them in the standings. This will give them an opportunity to jump ahead if they can put a few wins together. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is expected to be back in the line up after being a late scratch with the flu.
